Attendances
at the opening night of the Galway Festival 2009 fell from last year's total of 20,721 to 17,243, a drop of almost 17%.Bookmaker turnover was down from €2,362,286 to €1,749,259.
Tote figures plummeted from last year's €945,312 to €785,633.
